Gay Cow films set for release after Golden Globe success of sound-alike

One cow prepares for his hot role

The multiple Golden Globe winning film, Brokeback Mountain, has set the bovine movie world alight, it seems, after it has been announced that at least 3 directors are considering making Gay Cow films.

Gay Cows have featured in the scripts released for twelve individual films since the success of Ang Lee's heartfelt "Gay Cowboy" movie. Script writer Dan McEnroe who has written a script for a documentary film called "Moo and Me", told us:

"Now we've... turned that corner, cows, goats and even the noble sheep can feature more often on our screens."

- Script Writer
"It's a new age for script writers who can finally step out of their shells...no longer are we strapped into a human roller-coaster ride of emotion, but we can escape those bonds and start writing about animal passion, literally animal passion. Now we've hopefully turned that corner, cows, goats and even the noble sheep can feature more often on our cinema screens."

And the portrayal of gay cows?

"It's done sensitively. In my story the main cow character is still in the closet whilst some of his peers are already 'out'. There's a lot of peer pressure in the cow community and sooner or later the main character decides to break-out and go wild with his sexuality."

So far it has been rumoured by staff working at various film studios, that at least 3 well-known film directors are considering 3 of the Gay Cow scripts that have landed on their doors since Brokeback's success.

"It's been fairly phenomenal," said one source who asked not to be identified. "And apart from being phenomenal, it's pretty weird. Script writers are well known for ripping off ideas, even at the expense of simply ripping off a title that sounds like another award-winning film. However, Gay Cows...I mean, really. It's weird."
