Who is Laughsend?

Laughsend.net is run by Paul Lowton, ably assisted by his brother Mark Lowton.

I'm from the UK, and since University I've always had an interest in "send-ups" and parody. My online satire career began with a website called "There's No Place Like Home" - a four story online-newsletter which was almost mildly funny. From there Laughsend.co.uk was born - not *this* site, I hasten to add, but an actual online spoof news and satire magazine, like those sites that are published here.

Then came TheSpoof.com. Which then was sold to an eminently amiable Irishman who has since done marvellous things to maintain the popularity of the site and make breaking-even on a website a viable target, something which has to be admired.

Laughsend.net came from two separate desires.

Firstly, and mainly, I wanted to create a good looking joke stories, spoof news and political satire repository. A collection of the best satire and humor - in a format that's both pleasing to the eye and actually useful as a tool for seeking funny stories and comedy.
Our hope is that, in time, Laughsend will be sending large numbers of visitors to the sites who are published here because they fully deserve it.

Secondly, I felt a need to get "back into the mix", as it were. The main reason all my other websites have been "abandoned" are due to the stresses it has caused due to administration. Laughsend was created with an eye to reducing the amount of maintainence required to an absolute minimum, and should really run itself. I very much look forward to getting in contact with all the many friends I've made since starting in the online Spoof News and Satire market.
